Christmas is Only a Week Away
As we expect 6-10" of snow tomorrow morning, and the thoughts of dealing with salt, shovels, and stress, once all settled, it will make for a very white Christmas (something that Florida will never have although it did snow 4" in Vegas).
This year of all years, the Christmas holiday period doesn’t feel the same. At TNG, we are busier than ever dealing with SAP issues, getting ready for all the changes in 2009 and making sure customers get their orders on time. There hasn’t been any down time to recover to think about eggnog, gifts and caroling.
With Chrysler shutting down all their plants for a month, uncertainly is gaining momentum. We still don’t know what Bush is going to do with auto aid. Johnson & Johnson is rumored to be coming out with a new signature line of band-aids but they aren’t sure if they will stick around.
But when all is said and done, Christmas comes but once a year and people will celebrate. Here is my question: Do you like Christmas Eve or Christmas Day best? And why?
One thing is for certain: we all need a break. Let’s enjoy the break, decompress, and get ready for 2009. For the next 13 days left in 2008, let’s try to bring some semblance of normalcy; enjoy the white snow, make a snowman and sing some songs.
Happy Thursday!

I like Christmas Eve the best. This was the time when I was growing up, where the suspense was high. We were able to open one gift on Christmas eve and the rest waited until Christmas morning.
Christmas Eve, we would sit around and watch all the cartoons on tv, eat a nice yummy dinner, have some ooey gooey dessert and go to bed and wait for Santa to come.
I sure do miss those days! Merry Christmas to all!

Christmas day is the best for me. I get to watch as my daughters open their gifts with delight, realizing that with every gift comes a more vibrant smile. The anticipation is awesome to watch. However I wish Christmas day would last a little long, as I just don’t think there is enough time in one day to meet and greet the family. It is gone in a blink of an eye and before you know it, you never got the chance to truly catch up on the happenings of the year gone by.

I agree LG,
Was that band aid thing supposed to come out like that?? “They don’t know if they will stick around” Cute, hee hee.
But truly I love Christmas eve the best, because it’s the excitement from the kids, we make snacks, and at midnight we have oyster stew.
Play music and play games all night, Christmas day is more relaxing,The boys get up really early tear into the gifts and then we just to chill and then have a big expensive dinner, made by my wonderful chef of a husband.
Happy Thursday everyone.

Tie for both!
December 18th, 2008 at 11:03 am
That’s a tough one, I really like both. Christmas Eve my whole family goes to mass, and it’s probably the only day of the year we all go together, and after my Mom makes a huge polish Christmas Eve dinner (which I think is gross, but, I don’t like Polish food) and then we just hang out and relax, and usually end up watching A Christmas Story! Christmas day all my siblings and in-laws come over and we open gifts, the kids make a big breakfast, and then we split off and go to our significant others houses for festivities, and then at 6:00 on the dot it’s back to my parents for a huuuuge Christmas dinner. After dinner, we play the game Uno Attack for hours! Its fun
Merry Christmas!

I like Christmas Eve the best. For me it’s all about the anticipation. I love how excited the kids are, and just hanging out with family members I don’t get to see very often. When Christmas Day comes, it’s like it’s all comes and goes so quickly.

I love christmas day the best because all my family comes together and we celebrate, and play games and talk about our year. I also love the presents but spending time with my family is the best! Christmas eve is also a good day because I get to see my grandpa that I do not see that often, so that is also something enjoyable!:)

When I was little we did presents on Christmas eve and then we got to play with all our toys on Christmas day. Now we celebrate Christmas early. Our Christmas is this Saturday and my Husbands side is in January. So we have NO plans for Christmas.. Kinda sad.. but we will make the most of it. Were going to camp out at home and watch movies and eat holiday Munchies.. hmmmm can’t wait!!
Happy Holidays!!

Now that I’m older I enjoy Christmas Eve best. My husband and I go to my sisters house and party till the early hours of Christmas morning. There is usually a huge dinner, and we play a gift exchange game…super fun! Then my Husband and I go home, open our gifts, go to bed and Christmas day is all about being on the road. We go to his Dad’s and then to my parents and to my brothers. So it’s usually a really good time.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Happy Thursday!

Christmas Day……Because on Christmas Eve, we’re at my mother in-laws.
P.S….. I’m dreaming of a green Christmas.

I enjoy both but for different reason.
Christmas eve is always great because we go to a candlelight service at church which brings the joy of Jesus birth and the real reason of Christmas to the forefront of your mind and that has a way of humbling you.
Christmas day is more about spending the day with family and the friends that are held close to your heart all thourghout the year.
I love them both.
Have a very Merry Christmas!!

Christmas Eve!! For 40 years we ALL (four generations) have gone to my aunt’s and have a huge meal and watch the kids open gifts. ( I used to be one of the kids!)
We play 12 days of Christmas and usually someone does a magic show.
Christmas Day is great too but my daughter leaves at noon to go see her dad so it almost seems over at that time. Clean up and rest follows…
Merry Christmas everyone! Send some of the snow to Tennessee!!

Christmas Day is my favorite. I ususally don’t have much planned, just exchanging gifts and being with relatives. This year my brother is cooking, and he’s a really good cook!

CHRISTMAS IS…….
There is such an Amazing Clarity that people seem to have at Christmas…
An Awareness of what is important rises up out of every person….
Selfishness takes a back seat & the joy you can bring to someone dear
Warms your Spirit!!
CHRISTMAS IS…..That deep Connection with your Loved ones…
Celebrating the Birth Of Jesus…. Appreciating the Delicacy Of Life…
…..And That Every Moment Truly Counts!

I love Christmas Day the best – one because is my sons birthday he was born on Christmas last year. Two because I love to see the faces on all the little ones when they open their gifts on Christmas morning.

What ever I get to spend with the Grand Babies is my favorite day. With so many families to visit it might be a totally different day than Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. It’s all about the family!!!
Happy Holidays to all.

I agree with a lot of other people’s answers. For me, it was Christmas eve. It was the anticipation of the magic of the next day. Not being able to sleep, swearing you could hear the sound of reindeer on your roof, the “Santa Radar” (does anyone remember that? They’d show it on Local 4 with a “radar” of where Santa was at).
It was the innocence of believing anything was possible and everything was magic.

Christmas Eve!
It seems there’s less hustle & bustle on the eve.
For me everything is calmer and the anticipation & excitement in my daughters eyes is so rewarding.
Enjoying the snow, the hot cocoa or cider, being with family, it’s all so fullfilling.
For those traveling, the anticipation of getting there before Christmas Day and everybody’s joy when you do arrive on the eve.

Christmas Day is my favorite because after all the stress over money and shopping wo’s, the sparkle in my childrens eyes when they get up and see Santa came makes it all worth it! There is nothing like that feeling altough the Big Man steals all the glory from us parents!!!! Also we always enjoy a nice warm xmas breakfast of bacon or sausage, eggs, pancakes and all the fixins’! Wow they grow up too fast!!
December 18th, 2008 at 3:25 pm
They still do have a Santa Tracker on line. go to…
Noradsanta.com, its fun for the kids my boys will run downstairs every 10 minutes just to see where Santa has been and if he is getting close.
December 18th, 2008 at 5:37 pm
I love the suspense of Christmas Eve, it’s the best. Every year we make cookies and watch White Christmas. Can’t wait…
December 18th, 2008 at 6:51 pm
I love both too-In my family we celebrate on Christmas Eve with our immediate family, Church, big dinner and opening presents! Christmas day we spend seeing the rest of our families-and we always have a birthday cake for Jesus! Don’t forget the reason for the season!!! Hope everyone has a blessed one!

Christmas Eve. It always seems so magical!
December 23rd, 2008 at 11:12 am
I like Christmas Eve and Christmas morning the best. Christmas Eve is fun preparing and getting excited and Christmas morning is when my daughter opens her gifts!!! She is so happy and it’s wonderful to see…..The rest of Christmas day kind of blows because then we are on the road all day trying to make it to see evryone in one day.
I think for all the work and preperation that goes into the holidays that it should last a whole week:)
