Ginger Lily Farms Strong Debut
Yoga with Shelly on Saturday mornings at the Sports Club is physically exhausting. Shelly puts you into poses and makes you hold them for so long that you want to collapse. But then she yells out that "it isn’t yoga until that point." So I hold the pose cursing her while breathing deeper and deeper.
As always, the end result is worth it. After finishing up and leaving the Sports Club last Saturday, Jodi in membership sales stopped me excitingly. I haven’t seen Jodi in months and could not figure out why she would be so excited to see me.
"Larry, I have to tell you that your new Ginger Lily Farms shampoo and conditioner is amazing!" She raved about the products for ten minutes. Jodi went on to tell me that she was in the shower and another member was next to her and forgot her shampoo. Jodi let her borrow her Ginger Lily Farms, you know, yadda-yadda-yadda, and when the lady next to her gives it back to her, she exclaimed "this was the best and do you know where I can buy this?" Jodi gave it to her. Jodi has given so many bottles away she’s thinking of selling it at the Sports Club (they don’t retail).
This story has repeated itself many times and it is exciting to have a product that people brag about. One of our BE’s told me that she has a salon selling it for $4.99 (suggested retail is $2.99) and they can’t keep it in stock.
Bottom line is that people love to seek bargains on quality products. Salons finally have a "secret" product that they can sell exclusively and brag about. It’s so much fun!
We are currently working on a few styling products, hand lotion and maybe even a shower gel all in the signature Ginger Lily Farms fragrance. If you have any ideas for what you would like to see, I would love to know. Oh, more about yoga later.
Happy Tuesday!

I think a hair spray would be cool, or maybe some lip balm? With the summer coming up and people really being a fan of Burt’s bee’s and all the other lip chap you see out there, this would be a bonus to have next to the cash register with the Ginger Lily name on it. Plus I think men aren’t really threatened by a product that doesn’t have flashy colors or a sweet and to fuity scent. This keeps it for both men and woman to appreciate. Also what about a face lotion with Sunscreen in it?
Happy Tuesday!

Another idea just popped in! So along with the shower Gel why don’t we sell face washes? Or an after face wash lotion? It could be like Ginger lily face masques and a small facial line that the salons could carry at the rediculously great price we sell our Shampoo for?
Just a thought!

How about body butters? Lotions are great but for massages, body butters are better.

I like the idea of lip balm. I don’t know if anyone else has tried it, but I absolutely LOOOOOVE the PINN Lip Shine, but it’s only available around the holidays and in those 3 holiday scents. Maybe we could bring in some new scents of that for GLF? I know I would be excited about that…

I was thinking…about a perfume balm, body spray, bar soap, bubble bath or shave gel.
Outside the box…
Candles, sachet for your drawers and closets, essential oils, air fresheners.

I have to agree with Jodi, I love the Ginger Lily, what a great idea for salons. I would like to see hair spray and gel for styling products.

Lip balm or chapstick would be SUCH a great idea! I think it would go over huge as an add on to orders and i know all of us at Shelby would buy them!

The feedback we have been recieving here in Muskegon has been phenominal, almost everyone that is a repeat buyer of the product has requested a styling line.
Mousse, gel, thermal spray, curling creme, serums, hairspray….

My wife can’t leave the house without Burt’s bees lip balm – how about a knock off of that.

There are very few companies that make a clarifying shampoo, so maybe that would be good.
I have been using the color shampoo by Ginger Lily and really like it.
The first thing people actually noticed was the shine in my hair.
A dry shampoo would really go too. We sell out of dirty secrets every time we get some in stock.
A bar soap for the face might be nice. I would buy it.

This product has done amazingly well for our salons that have started carrying it! I am so glad that we have been able to sell it individually!!!:) I have had many requests for stying products…hairspray, mousse, gel, etc. But I totally agree with the lipbalm, and a body line. We get quite a few requests for chapstick and lipbalm, and bodywash:) Can’t wait to see what’s to come for GLF!!!

Customers have asked for a deep conditioner or masque a few times. I agree about the clarifying shampoo that Donna mentioned.
P.S. we even sold a few bottles to our die hard tigi customers at the event on Saturday night! They were excited

I was thinking about this and I came up with something else I think we could sell on a regular basis.
Travel sizes of hairspray.
Daily, people request that size.

I think a good Dandruff Shampoo would be great too!! We are pretty limited to lines that carry Dandruff products!
