CVS or Walgreens?
When it comes to drugstores, both CVS and Walgreens control the market. As both chains escaped the crutches of strip centers years ago, both are continuing to build mini drug emporiums offering 24/7 hours, clinics, beauty consultants and virtually every convenience item you can think of.
And as competition has it, both are typically located right next to each other.
Today’s blog is about which drugstore you shop at and why. You can also comment that you don’t shop at either of them and why you shop elsewhere. You can also comment that you buy your drugs via mail and have no need for drugstores.
And here’s one more question for you: Would you prefer to read this at this blog site or on the TNG Facebook wall?
Happy Wednesday!

I choose Rite Aid, the pharmacy has so much better customer service that the rest! I don’t think I have ever been in a Walgreens!

I shop mainly at CVS and Rite-Aid. I don’t like Wal-Greens at all. I don’t like the customer service at Wal-Green’s and the store somehow feels cheap to me and I don’t know why. I just don’t like the feeling when I walk in there. Besides, many CVS stores are open 24 hours and that is a huge convenience when I need something and it’s late.
I would rather read the blog here. It’s nice to break away for a few minutes every day to read it.
Enjoy your day!

Walgreens. they have a little bit of everything there. They are a little pricey on their prescriptions, though. I don’t care for the customer service at CVS, they are always short staffed, long lines etc. I would rather read your blog right here!!

Strictly CVS. I fill my scripts through them, and they sell the best off brand lactose intolerance pills LOL That’s really the only reason

oh…and TNG Facebook wall would be a cool spot…BUT only if we had access! LOL
November 11th, 2009 at 11:51 am
I don’t shop at drugstores very often. The only time is when I need something in a pinch, because there is one on every corner. They seem to be much more pricey than if I were to go to Target, Walmart, or Meijer.
I don’t mind reading the blog from the intranet, but if we (the employees) were to comment on the blog via facebook, maybe that would encourage our clients to comment as well.

Neither. I prefer Target. I can shop while I wait and they have a great system for liquid kids prescriptions which makes it super easy to dispense. If I can’t make it to Target, I go to CVS. Walgreen’s discontinued the acceptance of GM’s prescription cards several years ago.
As for Facebook, I prefer the current method. I only log into my Facebook account about once a month…

I shop at CVS because of the rewards program. And also it’s close to my house.
I prefer reading the blog here.

I shop at CVS on a regular basis and have been known to spend a small fortune during a single visit. I am a fan of their rewards program, like what Stacy said, but I mostly just shop there due to convenience – there is one down the street from work and one close to my house.
I’m impartial to where I’d prefer reading the blog at – I’m an avid FB’er, and I check the blog here on a daily basis…so I’d be happy with either location!

I shop at Walgreens, only because the nearest CVS is an extra couple miles from my house
I recently discovered drugstore.com, they have items that CVS and Walgreens don’t carry in their stores.
I suggest postings on the blog and facebook (dual exposure), this will capture attention from people that only check the blog and don’t have facebook (there are still some people that don’t have a facebook account), and people that have facebook but don’t check the blog.

Fortunately, I do not have any continous prescriptions……So i rarely vist either. I agree with the dual exposure comment.

I perfer Walgreens, I feel they are cheaper…..and I think facebook blog would be great…but I don’t think we have access….

krogers. i can shop for groceries and get my pills all in one stop. i was at walgreens the other day and a lady in front of had a huge cart full of stuff, i think of the drug stores for little quick stops not to grocery shop at…… she bought sardines there!!!!! who does that?
and yes id rather read here as we can’t access FB at work.

CVS is my choice for convenience. We have no Walgreens or Rite Aid in town. As for whether to use FB, I’d opt for your current setup as it was easy to get to via Google for this first-time user.

I do like the blog and would hate to see it go but on facebook you can reach so many people so could be a good idea. Can we do both?
November 11th, 2009 at 3:34 pm
I have no need for drug stores.
The Blog on Facebook would be great.
November 11th, 2009 at 3:41 pm
I choose CVS, but for prescriptions only.
November 11th, 2009 at 3:46 pm
I personally get my drugs on the street!!!!!! And I love the Blog
November 11th, 2009 at 5:14 pm
REALLY……YOU GET YOUR DRUGS ON THE STREETS! LOL
November 11th, 2009 at 5:21 pm
I shop at Target for pretty much everything. I used to work at CVS…and I would never spend that kinda money. Although, I still get my 20% employee discount because they never turned off my employee card(shhh) hehe!! sooo…when I’m passing one, yes, I’ll stop. But I’m mostly a Target shopper!
And as for the Blog…I love reading the blog here…but I would love it more if we were ABLE to read it on Facebook from work!!! And I think our clients would love to read it on facebook too!

I shopped at Walgreens for years, growing up in the Chicago area where they are headquartered and the primary chain drug store. I loved their service and their online Rx tools. When we moved to Michigan I had to switch to CVS because Walgreens won’t take GM insurance. I think that is very crummy of them. CVS seems like they have a smaller selection and not the same quality of products as I’m used to at Walgreens.
As for the blog – I’d recommend keeping it here, but posting a link on Facebook with each new post. You’ll get feedback on both sites and 2x exposure.

i personally shop at CVS for the extracare rewards, the cleanliness, the convenience (1 on every corner), & the good customer service. Love that i can use any competitors’ coupons to fill my prescriptins. Over the weekend, paid $2.25 for a prescripton & got a $25 giftcard.
