TNG Community

Last Saturday TNG held its annual meeting to review 2009 and share our strategy for 2010. it was fun, inspiring and best of all, there was a touch of optimism that 2010 will be a year we want to remember.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the sense of community. These are the toughest of times. Yet in only 48 hour advance notice, our talent donated more than two pallets of non-perishable food items to Forgotten Harvest.

Moreover, I learned that TNG adapted two families in need. In both instances, generous donations were made on our talent’s behalf to assure a merry Christmas for them.

And finally, collectively we raised more than $100,000 for the American Cancer Society in 2009, the 8th straight year we raised at least over $100,000.

What makes this more remarkable is that none of us at TNG are "fat cat bankers." While we live in a depressed state and look outside and see gray skies, we still have an inner well-being that keeps hope in mankind alive and well.

Happy Monday!

It feels so good to give to other people who are in need. I definitely get more from doing that than receiving gifts. I also get my son involved in different events that helps others so he understands how lucky he is to have the things that he has and that helping others is important.
This past year my parents lost everything, their home we grew up in and their cars. My dad was laid off for almost 2 years and my mom was put on diability. There were so many people who have helped them through their tough times in so many ways and it is an amazing feeling to know that there are people out there who still care about others in need. If it wasn’t for those people my parents could very well have been in a shelter. My dad was called back to work and has been working 10 hours a day 6 days a week, they have a home they can call theirs and I am so grateful for people who give, even just a little. :) So thank you to those kind of people!

I believe-what goes around comes around. You never know when it is you that needs that help. We are not that well off, but if we have a roof over our head and food on the table, why not donate.
Kelly also collected some purses with product in them for charity.
We at the Canton store donated to all of them and it is truely a wonderful feeling when you help those in need.

I agree Shannon, even if it is just a little, it helps somebody in need.
It’s amazing how people come out of nowhere and help those in need.
I don’t like to push faith on anybody but it is God and faith that pull all this together. When your at your last bit of hope a miracle happens.

I agree with you Gary, I think we as emplyees are a reflection of our employers. LG and Teresa thank you for all you do!
It is easy to give when you have a great company that is FULL of optimisim! It is the best feeling to know you are able to extend a helping hand to those who need and deserve it.

    Shan,
I couldn’t agree more with you. My grandfather worked until the day he died just to keep my grandmother’s medical bills paid and just barely kept the house paid (mostly with help from the family and friends). He never knew the joys of retirement. But with the help of their great neighbors, they would take turns cooking meals for my grandparents so they could eat and taking my grandmother to her doctor appointments. Having my grandparents several states away, this was a blessing a comfort to my family when we couldn’t be around to help with the tasks like that.

I’m so touched about the adopt a family/senior program TNG did, that was someone’s family member, like my grandfather, that we have helped make life a little easier. And everyone deserves that.

I’m so happy for the good news about your dad, Shan! Your parents are good people and deserve the best. I miss your mom’s calls to the store :)

Thank you Larry and Theresa for your thoughtfulness and care for your employees! It was a great first annual meeting for me :)

Oh…and you were right LG, those apples were amazing….out of this world. If heaven had a flavor, that would be it :)

I went shopping for the three seniors that TNG adopted and it gave me such a good feeling inside to help them. I only wish I could have donated more! I could have bought things for them all day:) It made me realize that even in these tough times my family and I are doing ok. We are actually doing better than ok. My goal for 2010 is to donate more! It makes me appreciative and thankful to go home at night!! Thank you to those who put together the forgotten harvest, and the donations for the adopted familes, what a great idea!

I was touched by how we all came together in these tough times. It goes with the saying “It is better to give than receive.” To know that you helped someone in need is the best feeling in the world!
