Out Of My Mind On A Friday Morning

Do you think Toyota owners are going buy another Toyota as their next car?

Cold, blistery, snowy, cloudy and gray. Enough of winter. At least we aren’t in Florida where it’s in the 50’s or Texas where it’s in the 40’s.

When smoking ceases in restaurants and bars May 1, how much busier are the casinos going to be which will still allow smoking?

Is Toyota getting the same treatment by Congress that the Big 3 received during it’s request for a bailout?

Can someone come up with a way to create more than 52 Friday’s a year?

How often do you want to pass drivers going 30mph in a 45mph zone because it’s snowing and the roads are clear?

Do you like Sunday brunch as much as me? What is your favorite place? I would tell you mine but I’m always the one making it. One fav: Egg sandwiches. English muffin, turkey bacon, egg whites, tomato, onion, cheese, touch of mayo.

After selling snow, I’m working on my next patent: Stylish neck supports. This is going to be a huge business in 10-20 years as all the X and Y generation kids find out that keeping their head up is painful from years of constantly looking down while texting.

Over half the people who read this blog don’t read others. I wonder why anyone reads this one to begin with.

Tim Horton’s is kicking Starbuck’s butt in Michigan. Looks like donuts are coming back in a big way. BTW: What ever happened to Krispy Kreme? Back in the day, what was better than a hot glazed one?

Happy Friday!

Weeeelllll… in theory there are 53 Fridays in an ISO year.
    Per our friends at Wiki:
The ISO week date system is a leap week calendar system that is part of the ISO 8601 date and time standard. The system is used (mainly) in government and business for fiscal years, as well as in timekeeping.
The system uses the same cycle of 7 weekdays as the Gregorian calendar. Weeks start with Monday. ISO week-numbering years have a year numbering which is approximately the same as the Gregorian years, but not exactly (see below). An ISO week-numbering year has 52 or 53 full weeks (364 or 371 days). The extra week is here called a leap week (ISO 8601 does not use the term).

A date is specified by the ISO week-numbering year in the format YYYY, a week number in the format ww prefixed by the letter W, and the weekday number, a digit d from 1 through 7, beginning with Monday and ending with Sunday. For example, 2006-W52-7 (or in compact form 2006W527) is the Sunday of the 52nd week of 2006. In the Gregorian system this day is called 31 December 2006.

The system has a 400-year cycle of 146 097 days (20 871 weeks), with an average year length of exactly 365.2425 days, just like the Gregorian calendar. In every 400 years there are 71 years with 53 weeks.

The first week of a year is the week that contains the first Thursday of a year.

    1. No. Gamblers r gamblers. Not all smokers are gamblers.
    2. Worse. They are #1, outsell the big 3, and r responsible for deaths and not just cars no one wants. They will be made an example of.
    3. In Europe they know how, or unemployment can take care of that as well
    4. Every chance I get cold- deathly stare as I’m doing it
    5. Prob more. Any place that knows how to make a good Bloody Mary that includes a beer back. Lox and bagels
    6. It’s called looking down with your eyes. My head has been level this whole time.
    7. Because they receive $1 for every commet made
    8. Who? You wanna see doughnuts? Come in and I’ll show you ones that sell for $8 each. Over expansion and saturation, but I’d still pick a Farmer Jacks sour cream glazed over KK any day of the week.

Re: txting… I was at the gym last night and two people were sitting on machines txting. That’s a leg press, not a thumb press, mate. Get to work or move along! Made me laugh.

Smoking Ban – I cannot wait for this to go into effect! I don’t think that people will stop going to bars/restaurants as much because of it… we will just have to walk through a cloud of smoke to get into and out of the place. The casino’s may see a small increase… but who am I to predict?
Sunday Brunch – Kate’s Kitchen in Flat Rock. Yum! :)
Doughnuts – Still nothing better than a fresh Krispy Kreme (in my opinion)
Designer Snow – Had a crazy dream last night… Went down to the academy and there were news crews all over the place to document the reveal of your designer snow. lol

We read the blog to see Gary lincoln’s wise cracks.

Can’t wait for the smoking ban, you never realize how bad smoking smells until you quit!!!

Let me know if you figure out how to get more Friday’s in a year!!! :-)

Not a huge breakfast person, I would rather sleep in. There are so few days where I can.

I would much prefer picking up the phone and talking to that person rather than texting. Too much work.

As much as I loved a Krispy Kreme hot glazed doughnut, I love my Tim Horton’s coffee!!! It is a fraction of the cost of Starbucks and in my opinion the best coffee anywhere!!!

The smoking band has been in California for over 10 years. Restaurants really are not affected because most smokers have one on the way to eat and then one after they leave. The bars just put outdoor patios in for there smoking area so they can sit out there and drink and smoke. Really not that big a deal.

  8. Gary Lincoln Says:

Thanks Diane……Now jump in your car, pass that slow moving Toyota and pick me up some Starbucks and a Krispy Kreme for brunch.

  9. Carly Says:

1.It depends how desperate smokers are to go somewhere they can smoke! We shall see.
    2. If they are, they shouldn’t be!
    3. Sometimes I just want to get out of my car and like the hulk throw the car out of the way.. I don’t like to be late because somone has not grasped the concept of salted roads!! REALLY people, if you can see the road and only a few flurries, is it necessary to go 25 on the express way!
    3. I love Sunday brunch! It’s the only day of the week where you feel breakfast is appreciated! We do pancakes and turkey bacon, compliments of my mom. Or we go to the old country buffet cause it’s my grandma’s favorite place. You can get breakfast lunch and dinner for one price!
    4. I really can’t even answer or comment on this one cause I am laughing so hard at how right you are LG! My dad would fall over with laughter cause he thinks the same thing!!! I am guilty from time to time, but so hilarious!
    5. I think starbuck’s is to much, and if I have just one cup i feel like I could have an anxiety attack! Tim horton’s is good, but Folger’s is better!
I like Dunkin too! KK is probably why most people have high cholestoral and blood pressure, to much sugar and calories! And that’s per dohnut. They could come back if they came out with a light glaze? :)

As far as the smoking ban goes…where there is a will, there is a way. While I’ve smoke free for close to a year, I still have quite a few smoker friends who have been looking at new options and ways to get around the smoking ban. This electric cigarette is all the new rage – I actually already know two people that have one!! Crazy the things they come up with…
