I attended a funeral recently and found out the deceased woman had stashed about 10,000 $ cash throughout her purse collection.

Now that's a rainy day fund.

Once upon a time, my husband and I went to a play (we paid for all the tickets) with his boss and wife. We went to dinner after. When the bill came, boss "forgot" his wallet and his wife didn't bring any cash or credit cards with her. Keep in mind she had a large purse with her. We were stuck with a $350 tab! The nerve of those people. Lesson learned: get the money upfront for tickets and get seperate checks for dinner.
