Someone tossed out a question that was very interesting indeed: "What was the last new thing that you did in your life that you never did before?" The reason for the question was simple enough: We are constantly learning and doing as kids, teenagers and young adults. But what happens after the age of 40, 50 or 60? We settle into a routine and outside of traveling somewhere new, we don't do a whole lot of new stuff.
I tossed out that I wrote a book and that was a great answer because I am a first-time author and knew nothing about the publishing business until I wrote the book. Who knew that 800 hardcover books were published daily and 5000 e-books launched on Amazon daily! I kept thinking of other new things that I did recently and it was very difficult. My routine is very regimented and even doing activities with my grandkids left me without an answer as they are doing the same activities that kids of all ages have done.
I was thinking so hard, the newest thing I just did a couple days ago came to light: I did my first podcast! One of the cool guys I hooked up with on LinkedIn was Jerome Myers who publishes his Dreamcatchers podcast weekly. Mind you, there are more than 4 million podcasts out there and about 700,000 active podcasts. But nearly half of them publish less than three episodes. Jerome has published nearly 200 and has one of the highest rated podcasts for businesses looking to exit.
To be honest (who ever came up with that expression?), (not Donald T. Trump!), doing the podcast was a riot and was a true extension of my book. I am certain that if you listen to my podcast, you will surely buy my book. Then again, if you are a loyal reader of my blog, you better buy my book!!! Here is the link to Apple Podcasts, enjoy!
